My name is Mrs. Ficarro and I’m so excited to be here teaching at St. Ignatius again this year! My husband and I just moved back to the Yardley area with our 2 children in March of 2021. We have a 7 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. My husband attended school here as a child, along with his brother and sister! My husband’s family have been members of the St. Ignatius Parish since 1984.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rider University and later went on to get my Elementary Teacher Certification in NJ in 2001, MN in 2006, and now PA. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades, as well as Preschool and Pre-K, over the last 20 years. I have a strong passion for teaching children of all ages while trying to make it fun for them to develop a lifelong love for learning!
I believe all children learn in their own individual ways. It is the responsibility of the teacher to connect with each child and find which type of instruction works best for each of them. It is not only my job, but my purpose, to make the information interesting and fun, connect the content to real-life experiences, and make it valuable to the children. We are all learners and we all need someone to believe in us. I believe in all of my students as each child brings so much joy and learning to myself as a teacher in turn.
